Dear fellow pet parent,
We always laugh about this now, but SnacDogg didn't start because we had this big dream of building a pet brand.
It started because we kept buying treats and thinking, "Really? That's it?"
Every time we'd pick something up, it felt like we'd seen it before. Same ingredients. Same packaging. Same promises.
Meanwhile, Remo and Murphy couldn't have been more different.
Remo would happily taste almost anything (honestly, sometimes a little too happily).
Murphy, on the other hand, has very strong opinions. If he doesn't like something, you'll know within about three seconds.
Without realising it, they became our product team.
Whenever we worked on a new recipe, it wasn't about ticking boxes or following trends. It was simply, "Would they actually enjoy this?" If they didn't, back to the kitchen.
We also cared about things that had nothing to do with the recipe.
Why do pet treats have to come in packaging you want to hide?
Why can't the tin stay on the kitchen counter next to the coffee and cookies?
Why does everything in this category feel so... serious?
We didn't have all the answers. We still don't.
We're learning as we go, changing things when they need changing, and probably overthinking every tiny detail more than we should.
Some days that means celebrating a recipe finally coming together.
Other days it means accepting that Murphy has once again rejected something we were convinced he'd love.
That's kind of how SnacDogg has been built.
One small decision at a time.
We're really glad you're here this early.
It means a lot.
